Techmap Podcast #7 – Getting your Content Seen

In this episode of the Techmap podcast, I talk with Will Nicholson and Nigel Foote from content agency TVN.

Will spoke at a Techmap meetup recently about how to make sure your content is seen and is effective. His agency uses biometric research techniques such as eye tracking and facial coding studies to make sure the content they produce for clients, hits the spot.

In an age when we are literally swamped in content – text, image video, or audio – you need something more than simply great creative to extract the maximum value from each piece. Will and Nigel use biometric studies in the creative process to test concepts, then with pre-testing to tweak the content and then for measurement post execution. In my opinion it fits very well with digital marketing, where we are afforded the luxury of being able to continually test and refine campaigns during execution.

I hope you enjoy the show:

Future of Search Advertising

The latest Techmap Podcast is all about the future of search advertising.

In this week’s show we are joined by James Murray, the UK lead for search advertising at Microsoft. In 2015 James was spotted talking about a revolution in search and the idea that search is becoming the new electricity. With those provocative statements, we felt the need to get him to explain and so James joined us on the show.

He talks us through his vision of search marketing in 2016 and beyond, describing some core tips for how search marketers to make sure they get the best return on their ad spend too. Thanks for joining us James.

Techmap Podcast #5 – We Talk Consumer Neuroscience with Mev Bertrand

For this week’s Techmap Podcast I talked to Mev Bertrand, Head of Research for consumer neuroscience agency Neuro-Insight.

Mev spoke at the Techmap meetup in London this October about the use of Steady State Topography – a patented biometric test that measures the brain’s response to stimulus – and how they use this technique to improve advertising effectiveness. It’s a fascinating area of market research and one that complements more traditional quant and qual studies.
